Trouble hands are any kind of poker hand that can cost you plenty of money if played  however they do have potential of securing you a big hand if you adhere to them long enough and if you are lucky enough to have opponents who are holding much weaker hands than yours. In a few words, trouble hands in this context are any kind of hand that seems great in the beginning but which can put you in some serious trouble or cost you lots of money as the game proceeds.

Troublesome Starting Hands

Below are some of the trouble hands that you are suggested not play pre flop if are a beginner. If you are more seasoned, of course play these troublesome hands. You will certainly know just how to play them, although, here is how you can profit at least minimizing your losses.  

•    A Pair of Jacks
If you are a beginner dealt with a pair of jacks, folding your cards is a better option.  If you wish to give it a try, call at the first betting round.  Do not raise.  If you wish to see the flop, at least keep your cost at a minimum.  If, however, a player raises, chances are high that you are beat. Hence, folding your cards is a better option before your cost gets too high.

•    King and Ten
Most seasoned players, when faced with King and Ten, muck it.  Beginners, however, are in love with the King and play it.  It did be better to fold pre flop with King and Ten.  If you hold a top pair (KK) following the flop, chances are high that you are not alone – and a 10 is of course not the best kicker out there.  The chances of getting a straight, moreover, are quite less; you can lose your stack while awaiting that straight that may never come.

•    Ace and Ten
You can flop a top pair with Ace and Ten, but if your opponents are raising and calling through the flop, chances are high that they have superior cards than you.  If you flop a pair of Aces, anybody else perhaps has the same pair (with a King kicker) or even a trips.
