Live cards are quite significant: While playing 7 cards stud poker, always keep in mind that live cards are quite significant to make a winning hand. If you don’t have enough live cards, you have no chance to make a winning hand as most of your cards are dead or they don’t offer any winning opportunity.      

Your first three cards are decisive: Always try to keep high starting standards as a rule. Your first three cards are crucial as they need to collaborate or have a big pair to make it a perfect option with positive chances in the long haul.

Your Position is quite important: As the position varies in 7 card stud poker, betting last is always a great advantage. In the opening betting round, the betting action starts from the player having the lowest exposed hand, but after that, the highest ranking up card hand is always first to act.   

Have Patience: No matter how much you know about 7 card stud; you can’t win if don’t have patience. So always play sensibly and set standards for hand selection.

Be alert: You must be fully focused on the visible cards. Both 7 card versions are mainly a drawing game and you must be alert if your chances of making a hand are low as the dead cards are held by opponents.

Be Disciplined: Always play live hands (low live hands in 7 hi-lo). Avoid wasting your money with the poor hand selection. Playing hands that are truly much more of a long shot than they seem will slowly but definitely cause you to go broke. So always wait for better opportunities.

Look at Table Play: You’ll waste most of your starting hands so always utilize the down time by watching your opponents. Be focused on their hand selection and possible tells they offer.

Be Aggressive: If you think you have the best hand in your way then be aggressive. Raise or even re-raise with proper play. In the long run, right selections cause the odds to be in your favor.
